You know special things are going to happen when children dress up, gather blankets and move chairs into place to build a cubby that feautures a unicorn out the front.
This was the scene I came back to after dealing with some washing (my hubby helped our cherubs set this up):
I popped my head into the cubby and took some photos of the real magic happening inside.
There was some singing. Then guitars and musical instruments were gathered and there was a jam session in the cubby. We ended up having a disco cubby and sang into some hairbrushes. Happy days.
Some favourite books were later collected and stored outside and inside the cubby.
Miss Six read (with some help) Extra Yarn to Master Four
Miss Three made lots of farm animal noises as she looked through some of her favourite books featuring farm animals. Miss Six read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See and The Very Hungry Caterpillar to her little sister. I read Going On A bear Hunt and The Magic Hat.
With more rain predicted this week I’m sure there will be a whole lot more cubby time at our place.
