This is a last minute Christmas card that is quick, easy and fun to create.

Scratch Art Christmas Tree Card - Creative Play Central

To make these cards we used:

– Oil pastels

– White note cards

– Coloured gems (stars as well as circle shaped gems)

– Felt pens

Miss Eight and Master Six used a green oil pastel to draw the outlines of their trees. I drew some triangle shapes for Miss Four. All children then coloured inside their trees with our oil pastels – lots of light colours all over the tree. They ended up looking like rainbow trees. Once the tree was completely covered in colour, it was time to go over the multi coloured tree with  green oil pastels. Now the fun part, using toothpicks, scratch patterns, shapes, designs over the tree to reveal the second layer of coloured oil pastels.
